DESCRIPTION: APW - Hamilton, Grade 975 with very rare two-tone damascene, "Made Especially for John Brenner by the Hamilton Watch Co" marked mvt, 17J, 16S, 14K gold HC recase with attractive engraving detail, front shield with initials, "John Brenner, Youngstown O." marked white enamel DS dial, SW-SS, two-tone gilt and nickel damascene, s#301207. Gross weight of assembled watch 65.7 dwt (102.1 g). This movement features one of the most eye-catching and unusual two-tone finishes that we have seen among Hamilton production. From the well-known Hamilton collection of Robert Bennett of Olivehurst, California.
CONDITION: Mvt: Ticking very sluggishly, overhaul recommended, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, excellent two-tone color, small spot of oxide to larger winding wheel, few spocks of oxide to regulator spring; dial with outer chapter hls at 8 and 10; fine hands, minute with small bend; case shows hardly any wear, small nick to band near 8, no dents or dings, superb engraving detail, cuvette with rippled appearance to its reflection likely evidencing the polished removal of a presentation; tight bow, crown shows very little wear; good glass crystal.
